Huntsville Marketing is the collective talents of John Allen and Philip Busk. Together we have helped many companies achieve first-page-placement through our search optimization and marketing strategies. We also partner with a number of local resources to design, create (including writing marketing and technical content), and deploy new websites and revamp existing ones.
When it comes to launching and positioning technology products and services, John Allen seems to possess the “Midas Touch.” During his eight-year tenure at Huntsville-based Intergraph Corporation, John was responsible for launching a new file-sharing product that would become the core of Intergraph’s Windows NT and Unix Integration strategy. By pioneering new distribution channels, John grew sales of this product from zero in 1994 to $12 million within three years. This technology was acquired by Microsoft in 1998.
John began his Search Engine Optimization efforts while at Intergraph in 1997, breaking into full stride during the “dot com” boom. John joined the executive team at Huntsville-based WireSpeed Communications in 1998, where he revamped the company’s marketing focus and – through his web-marketing skills – positioned it to become one of the premier embedded-software development firms in the country. WireSpeed’s growth and reputation soon attracted the attention of Red Hat Linux, which acquired the company in June 2000.
Following the sale of WireSpeed, John served as an adviser at business incubator BizTech, where he assisted several start-up companies including the successful Internet shopping site dealnews.com. John joined dealnews as Director of Marketing in 2005, where he continued to hone his Search Optimization and Search Engine Marketing skills.
John started Marketing on the Web in 2007, and now assists a large number of local businesses with their SEO and SEM efforts.
Philip has over 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising, sales, and engineering. Philip was awarded the prestigious Hughes Fellowship and earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California. He was the VP of sales and marketing for a media printer for eight years and served in various director roles for both technical and sales groups.
An entrepreneur at heart, Philip has created and operated several successful on-line businesses, using SEM techniques to dramatically improve revenue and profits. Philip’s combination of business acumen and search engine experience is the perfect combination for creating successful internet marketing strategies.
Philip joined the team at Marketing on the Web in 2009, but has been heavily involved in SEO and SEM efforts since 2004, assisting many companies to achieve top search engine rankings within 3-6 months. Philip has also carried out successful pay-per-click campaigns with consistent increases in traffic and conversions, while reducing overall Ad spend.
